2020 in review

An artists impression of ‘The Grosvenor’.

A note from the Executive Director

As we reach the end of 2020, it’s good to look ahead and think about what the new year may reveal.

But first, let’s take a look back. 2020 was an unexpected year. We were faced with extraordinary crises – first the Bushfire Emergency and shortly thereafter the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Events which brought new challenges no one was prepared for, changing the way we live and how we connect with each other.

Although the year has been unique, we haven’t let that slow us down. With the support of our owners, customers, and business partners we were able to deliver multiple projects and innovations:

  • Stage 1 of upgrade of the lift program to a Destination Control System reducing wait and travel times between floors.
  • The introduction of new seating and greenery in the Piazza providing additional social spaces.
  • Commencement of construction on transforming the upper lobby into a first-class business lounge.
  • Continuing our commitment to the environment, the installation of an onsite food dehydrator that transforms food waste into fertiliser.

I am proud of how the Grosvenor Place team responded to the Pandemic and the disruption it caused. Along with being the first to implement many initiatives that are now taken as industry standard, we committed to a transparent and open dialogue with all our customers.

Grosvenor Place have been fortunate to secure new tenancies during what has been the worst economic downturn in more than 20 years.  A testament to the strength of the team and appeal of an exceptionally well designed and positioned building.

2021 will bring even more improvements to Grosvenor Place. We will see the launch of The Grosvenor, providing multifunction space with booths to hold casual meetings, bookable meeting rooms and agile working areas serviced by complimentary wi-fi.

Offering more choice, we will welcome a new retailer with a fresh new menu. The refresh of the lift cart interiors will be finalised complete with mirrored panels and plush new carpet.

Finally, a big thank you for your support this year. I wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas with your families and look forward to seeing you in 2021.
